Nicosia, also known as Lefkosia, is the capital city of Cyprus and the main business centre of the island as well as being the seat of government. It is located almost centrally on the island and lies along the shores of the Pedieos River. The climate of Nicosia is a typical Mediterranean one where the summers are long, hot and dry and the winters are mild.
